Ministries

Each month, Woodridge UMC's Outreach Committee designates an organization, ministry, or mission (or two) to be the recipient of our monthly Outreach Offering.

OCTOber 2018 Outreach Offering

Ridgewood United Community Ministries

Ridgewood United Community Ministries is an extension of the outreach program of our sister church, Trinity UMC (Joliet), which is a one-hundred year-old congregation situated in a working-class neighborhood: 50% Latino, 30% African-American, and 20% Caucasian. After dialogue, assessment, and cooperation of the surrounding community, Spanish-language activities including worship, Bible study, and children’s and women’s ministry initiatives have been undertaken. English as a Second Language (ESL) classes, an eight-week Tutoring Project for neighborhood elementary and junior high school children, a food pantry which is open every Wednesday afternoon year-round, an annual Spanish/English Vacation Bible School, and intercultural celebrations are in place.

Support UMC missions and ministries
through prayer

Additionally, each month the Outreach Committee requests prayers for a United Methodist missionary and a church with whom we have a relationship.  See more here.
