"How Did We Get Here From There?"

This Sunday we will celebrate LAITY SUNDAY.  That means that the clergy persons of the congregation (Pastor Danita and Pastor Dave) are not in charge of worship and get the opportunity to be worshippers!!!!  It is the day that we celebrate and highlight the work that you as a member of the congregation does.  Well, who will preach?  Glad you asked…….Faye Hoffman will give the inspirational message for the day.  Who will pray for us?  Glad you asked…..your pastors never stop praying for you, but on Sunday it will be someone just like you…..another lay person!!!!

 The theme for LAITY SUNDAY this year focuses on “hospitality”.  And that is something that we cannot talk about enough.  Look around the world, our community and even in our church.  There are so many opportunities that are missed to show we care and are concerned, opportunities to show others an act of kindness.  Let’s see what you, as the laity of the church, have to say about that this week.  Please join us.  Everyone is welcome to attend at 9 or 10:30 a.m..

 Woodridge UMC is an open and loving United Methodist community striving to:

Welcoming to all;
Uniting in service toward greater social justice for all;
Moving forward with understanding and acceptance of all peoples;
Creating disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.

Our purpose is to offer a safe place and community to all races, cultures, religions, genders, sexual identities, ethnicities, age groups and other beliefs.
