On Behalf of Others
We are in the midst of the season of Lent. The solemn period of 40 days before Easter (not including Sundays) where our focus is on self-reflection and penitence. It is a time that is marked with prayer and fasting and the act of sacrifice. Our steps of faith are taking us through the final weeks and days that Jesus spent walking the dusty streets of Jerusalem. We, too, walk with Him.
This is also the month where we celebrate women's history. The very fabric of our existence is woven together by the work of women. Whether it is behind the scenes on the front lines, women have made a difference in our world at every level of existence. As people of faith, we celebrate the women who have stood in places of challenge and broken the proverbial "glass ceilings" over and over again. Hats off to the women of faith that surround us!
So, it is no surprise that we look at this week's theme of "ON BEHALF OF OTHERS" we can't help but highlight the work of those who have left footprints for others to follow. How would our lives look if a woman had not had a crucial part in our development? Even from afar, women have paved the way for others. How do we continue to do that? What is our role in being a part of the movement? Let's see if we have some answers on Sunday! Join us at 10:00 a.m.. We would love to see you in person, but if not, join us on YouTube.
