Christian Crossroads
This week we will begin a new journey. While we did not get to the end of the Acts of the Apostles or explore all of Paul’s journeys, we are moving on. Like people on the Exodus…..we’re moving forward. Seems like the theme for this week!! We, as Christian people, are always on a journey. Yet so often we find ourselves stuck. Stuck trying to make the message of God relevant to our current society. We are often at the intersection of what is relevant and what is appealing. Somewhat of a CHRISTIAN CROSSROAD.
Which direction should we go? Who do we appeal to? What message do we use? Brian McLaren in his book THE GREAT SPIRITUAL MIGRATION reminds us that we should be a part of a spiritual migration back to the basic message of God that calls for conversion. That’s one of those “churchy” words that confounds insides and repels outsiders. So what do we do? Where do we go? Let’s see if we can’t get some answers on Sunday.
Series Information
To survive imminent ecological, economic, social, political, and spiritual crises, Jesus's followers need to migrate to a new form of Christianity, one that abandons a punitive deity in favor of a creative god of love and nonviolence.
