Our sermon series on “A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood” is done, but this week’s gospel lesson (Mark 6:1-29) still manages to take us on a trip to not one, not even two, but three different neighborhoods and three very different experiences in those neighborhoods. 

Turns out, that going home again is not always the panacea one hopes it will be — even for Jesus. It also turns out, even being in the top one percent of power and wealth doesn’t guarantee a healthy, happy home. So what hope do the rest of us have? Further…
