Happy Mother's Day!  This weekend will be filled with celebrations and remembrances of women who have played an essential and nurturing part of our lives and might include sisters, aunts, grandmothers, girlfriends, etc..  Our prayers are with those whose moms have died, moms who have lost children from any number of circumstances, or those who grieve the loss of a child to addiction, gangs or other societal ills.  Our prayers are for all women.

This week our scripture passages continue to highlight the theme of God's abiding and all-inclusive love and our response to it.  What does it mean to lay down one's life for their friends?  No....it does not involve martyrdom!!  It involves how we respond to our neighbors and those we love.  It involves our response to the injustice of the world and the sanctity of life.  But, we can talk some about that on Sunday at 10:00 a.m..  Join us in person or on our YouTube channel.
