It's getting closer!!!  Here we are at the third Sunday of Advent already!!!  Christmas will be here before we know it!  But before that, we need to make sure we know who it is we are looking forward to seeing.

In this week's passages from scripture, Isaiah 61 and John 1, we hear the prophets of old speaking of one who is to come  that will bring a message of hope and justice, of compassion and grace.  But who is it?  Do we know who it is?  Do we have some positive identification, something we can verify?  We have been hearing these promises and the possibilities, but is there something that we can touch, see or taste?

Have you ever had to produce some form of identification to verify that you are who you say?  We have driver's licenses, identification cards, passports, etc. that can verify some details of who we are.  But what type of identification do we have that shows others that we are Christian/followers of Jesus Christ?  Who knows and can verify that we believe at all?  Our world today is "Searching for Positive I.D." to help manage the day to day stresses of life.  How can we help make that happen?
